War photography is a dangerous gig, so we were surprised to hear that a University of Massachusetts at Amherst student is GlobalPost’s photographer in Afghanistan this summer. Ben Brody has a bit more experience than the average college journo, though. He is a graduate of the New England School of Photography, and was a combat photographer for the U.S. military before applying the G. I. Bill toward a degree at UMass. Continue reading
