Welcome to Building the J-Future! My name is Aram and I’m the blogger in residence. Let me introduce myself and the blog.
This blog is run by United Press International’s student journalism initiative UPIU. The UPIU.com project allows students to submit work and have it critiqued by professionals, this blog sort of represents the other half of building great journalists. Here we aim to explore the process of creating excellent multimedia journalism.
I’ll be interviewing and getting guest posts from experts in social networking, writing journalism, and general new media. I intend to bring in experts to write guest posts. There will also be reporting on what is going on in the realm of student media. In the future, we’ll check in with student and recently graduated journalists to help discover what makes them successful.
Our goal is to find examples of success in the world of journalism, discover tools and techniques, and figure out how to best use them.
As befits a blog about media, I’ll be delivering content in any number of ways, live screen-casts, video interviews, audio podcasts, and anything else I can think of. I hope that you’ll join me, not only through the comments but also by taking advantage of live-chats and real-time embedded discussions that will be posted in the future.
Let’s work together to figure out how to better serve our users by creating innovative and interesting journalism content. I hope to hear from you soon!
